Ralf Pfeiffer studied architecture at Technical University Berlin and at Carleton University, Ottawa, ON. During his studies he worked as a stage designer for theater, film and opera productions. His Diploma „homeless housing in Manhattan – living in transition at Pier 49“ was awarded with the Türklitz price as the best architectural work of his age group. Working since 1993 as freelance architect and assistant professor for architecture at TU Berlin from 1993-98, he founded Pfeiffer Architekten in 1998.

Andrea Henrion-Pfeiffer studied architecture at Technical University Berlin. She received a scholarship for Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, USA, where she graduated with "The Urban Observatory" in 1996. Back to Germany, she worked for Architekturbüro M. Schasler in the field of tender and site supervision for office buildings from 1996-99. At Jack Rouse Associates she worked on interiors of Autostadt Wolfsburg in 2000/01. With hg merz architekten museumsgestalter she worked on the former Staatsratsgebäude ESMT Berlin in 2004/05. Since 2006 she worked for Pfeiffer Architekten and became part of the executive board in 2009.
